Arsenal restored their five-point lead at the Premier League summit with a hard fought 2-1 win over Chelsea at Emirates Stadium.
It was the hosts who led in the first half as William Saliba (21) headed home, before Piero Hincapie (45+2) diverted Reece James’ inswinging corner in for Chelsea’s equaliser ahead of the interval.
Jurrien Timber (66) then restored Arsenal’s lead with a close-range header, moments before Chelsea were reduced to 10 men as Pedro Neto received to bookings in two minutes.
Mikel Arteta’s side still survived some late scares before securing victory to reopen their lead over second placed Manchester City, while Chelsea missed the chance to put pressure on the top-four spots.
